Nikke: Break Level 160 Wall Guide as an F2P
The most-asked question among new players is probably this one: “How to break the level 160 wall?” or some players would ask, “What is the level 160 wall? What’s the meaning of it? And how does it affect my account?”
Nikke will have its 4th Anniversary soon, but those questions still linger in the air for every new player. And luckily for us, Nikke has actually improved a lot to help new players pass this level 160 wall.
So in this Nikke level 160 wall guide, I will tell you everything you need to know about this issues and how to overcome it with the most efficient and effective way.
What’s the Nikke Level 160 Wall?
If you are a newbie, you would probably see these “Level 160 wall” terms a lot in many places such as YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, or any other forums.
And you are wondering, what is that?
To put it simply, the Level 160 wall in Nikke is a threshold that will hold your account at level 160 until you complete the requirements needed, which is having 5 gold characters at Max Limit Break or three-star.
And before you have 5 MLB characters, no matter how many level-up resources you hoard, you won’t pass it. This is the rule that is already set in stone in Nikke.
The only way to break the level 160 wall is by having 5 gold MLB characters and putting them in the Synchro Device. It can be anyone as long as they’re a gold or S rarity character.
How to Break the Level 160 Wall as F2P?
As I said in the introduction, Nikke has improved. I know the level 160 wall still there, but trust me, passing it right now as a completely F2P new player is much easier compared to years before.
Remember, the rule is to have 5 gold characters at Max Limit Break (MLB) or three-star. So you need 4 copies of each character, and 5 x 4 means you need to aim for 20 characters.
I know it sounds like a lot at the beginning, but it won’t be as hard as you thought if you follow this Nikke level 160 wall guide.
Use Your Gems on Ordinary Recruit
You are now probably thinking, “This is a mistake; you should use your Gems only in limited banners!” Right?
But trust me, if you are a new player, especially F2P, spending 200 pulls on Ordinary Recruit will help you more than using them on the other banner to aim for one Nikke only.
You can stop spending on Ordinary Recruit once you pass the level 160 wall, but before that, this Banner is your priority. The only banner that holds the same level of priority is the limited banner, such as the Summer Banner, Collab Banner, etc.

The main reason why the Ordinary Banner is very OP for new players is that it has a wishlist. A system that allows you to recruit five characters from each faction. And it’s guaranteed. You won’t get anyone outside your wishlist.

And to make it even better, Ordinary Recruit basically has a double spark system. The first one is the 200 silver mileage tickets, which you can exchange for one ordinary Nikke in the shop. And the second one is the 100 Bonus Recruit, which you can exchange for someone like Litter, Naga, Alice, etc.
Who you choose depends on your account. But the tip I can give you is to make sure you use it only at the last moment. Meaning, to complete the last dupe of your two-star Nikkes.
Don’t use them if your Nikke is still one-star or doesn’t even have stars yet.

I also want to talk about this item called Favorite Item Season 6 Spare Body Selection Box. This item is actually a priority if you are a META chaser.
What this item does is give you a spare body for the Nikke of that season who got their Favorite Item. For example, Flora got her Favorite Item this season; that’s why her spare body is available there. And in case you don’t know, she became OP now just because of that Favorite Item buff.
So if you are lucky enough to get three copies of Flora from pulls, you can use your Silver Millage Ticket to get her.
And keep in mind that you also need some luck in the Ordinary Banner. Some people got really lucky and passed this level 160 wall with only 200 ordinary recruit pulls; others need more than 300. Or even 400 pulls.
But always remember, don’t spend too much since you will need Pilgrim, Overspec, and Limited characters at the end of the day too. And they will need Gems if you want them to come to your account.
Focusing Dupe on the Free Characters

So Nikke has some free characters that you can get even as a new player. Such as:
- Alice (one copy) from the Alice Diary permanent event
- Privaty (one copy) from the Day by Day permanent event
- Drake (three copies) from the Road to Villain permanent event
So make sure you put all of them in this wishlist. But for Drake, you only need one more copy before you complete her.
The other sources of free characters are by playing the game during the anniversary or half-anniversary event. You will get one MLB Nikke for free just by playing the game. You basically only need four MLB Nikkes if you are playing Nikke during this time.
My New Account Progress

I pulled around 320 pulls on the Ordinary Recruit and 260 pulls on the rate-up banner. And this is how my account looks now.
Considering I’m not even reaching level 140 yet, I will be guaranteed to pass the level 160 wall the moment the anniversary event comes.
I consider this one lucky because it’s even faster than my other account. And I currently won’t pull on the Ordinary Recruit anymore since I got the task done. Or soon, maybe.
