Honkai: Star Rail – Silverwolf Lv 999 Vertical Investment Guide
So I’ve seen this question in many forums: “What is the best vertical investment for Silverwolf Lv 999 and her team?” Especially since Aeon Aha will debut in about two weeks.
In this Honkai: Star Rail guide, I’ll share tips on Silverwolf Lv 999’s vertical investment priority and her best team, based on their performance and overall impact.
But before we begin, I want to clarify a few things.
Vertical investment in Honkai: Star Rail, or even any other gacha games, also involves a character’s best teammates.
That’s why I won’t talk only about Silverwolf Lv 999 in this vertical investment priority guide. I will also cover her best teammates and how to invest in them to make your Silverwolf Lv 999 a better main DPS on an Elation team.
Silverwolf Lv 999 Vertical Investment Priority based on Cost
I will divide this guide into different phases based on investment cost, so you can use it based on your budget or what you have at the moment.
For example, a team that consists of Silverwolf Lv 999 E0S0, Yao Guang E0S0, Sparxie E0S0, and Pearl E0S0 is a 4-cost team. Because you basically need four of the five-star limited characters in this team.
Aeon Aha, the upcoming and final Elation character in this Planarcadia arc, will be released in the 4.7 patch, or around two weeks from now. But since she’s already on V4 and there won’t be a V5, I’ll include her in this Honkai: Star Rail guide.
First Phase (3-cost Silverwolf Lv 999 Team)
This is the first phase of the Silverwolf Lv 999 team, meaning it’s the “cheapest” one I can put in my investment guide for her.
But where’s the one- and two-cost team for the Silverwolf Lv 999 team? Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a cheap Silverwolf Lv 999 team. Even if there is, it’s just a cope. And even if there is a good showcase for those, it’s just a heavily based stage that benefits Silverwolf Lv 999 so much with a 40+ good roll build. Meaning you can’t replicate them.
This 3-cost team consists of:
- Silverwolf Lv 999 (E0S0) – 1 cost
- Yao Guang (E0S0) – 1 Cost
- Elation MC (E6S0) – 0-cost
- Pearl (E0S0) – 1 cost
It’s been more than 2 weeks since Pearl was released. And she’s amazingly good, especially for Silverwolf Lv 999, to the point I could say she is mandatory for Silverwolf Lv 999.
She grants a massive buff for Elation, and she is the only Elation Sustain in this game.
And if we look at Hyacine, released on May 21, 2025 (HSR version 3.3), she is still the best and most mandatory character in the Remembrance Team, even today.
If we compare Pearl to Hyacine, most of us can agree that Pearl’s sustain isn’t as good as Hyacine’s. You can put Hyacine on any team, and that team will survive. Her sustain is basically the best in this game.
Meanwhile, Pearl is very niche. You can’t put her outside the Elation Team because there are many characters who beat her in pure sustain. But for Elation team specifically? She wins by a wide margin.
And if we take a look at an older sustainer like Lingsha, she is still a core sustain for the Superbreak team even years after her debut.
So I’m sure Hoyo won’t replace Pearl in the Elation Team too.
And for Yao Guang? Well, she’s the main support for the Elation Team. She give your team so many things.
But the most important one is her Ultimate that gives Aha an extra turn with 20 Punchline. And this doesn’t consume Aha’s original Punchline.
Yao Guang also has a rare buff like DMG Vulnerability and All-type RES PEN. This is a universal buff that benefits many teams, but for Elation teams specifically, it’s amazing because some Elation DPS don’t scale with common stats like ATK.
The only problem with Yao Guang is that you need her to be as fast as possible. The common benchmark is around 180 SPD for E0S0, and 200 SPD for E0S1.
But if you can’t do that, she is decent with what she already has.
Second Phase (4-cost Silverwolf Lv 999 Team)
Now we add one more member to our investment: which is Aha herself, the Aeon of Elation, or Nihilux. She replaced the free Elation MC.
This team consists of:
- Silverwolf Lv 999 (E0S0) – 1-cost
- Yao Guang (E0S0) – 1-cost
- Aeon Aha – Nihilux (E0S0) / Sparxie (E0S0) 1-cost
- Pearl (E0S0) – 1-cost
You know there is a Global Passive in Honkai: Star Rail, right? A buff that can grant your entire account, not just the team you are using, a kind of specific buff. And Aha has it.
Her Global Passive is to turn Aha Instant’s base SPD into her base SPD. So the higher SPD you have on Aeon Aha, the faster your Aha Instant is gonna be. This buff still works even if you don’t play her on the team.
What it means is that even if the Aeon of Elation is replaced in the future, her value still counts because of this Global Passive.
But now let’s talk about what Aeon Aha brings to the table.
So besides her OP Global Passive, she can select one of your teammates to become Elation Emenator, granting them a 20% Elation DMG Bonus and 1 Skill Point.
Third, Aeon Aha has a unique buff or ode depending on who’s on the team.
So she’s basically Cyrene, but for the Elation Team.
And of course, since different characters get different odes, some can be stronger, and some can be weaker.
First, her ode to Silverwolf Lv 999 increases her MMR Cap from 300 to 360. Increases Crit DMG by 40%. She also gets 20% Hidden MMR.
Second, for Yao Guang, she increases the Great Boon effect DMG Multiplier by 20%, and also regenerates a fixed 12 Energy and 10 Puncline whenever Yao Guang uses her Ultimate.
Unfortunately for Silverwolf Lv 999, the increase MMR from 300 to 360 is kinda useless. The only real value here is the 40% Crit Damage bonus.
But for Yao Guang, her buff is actually good because she always needs Energy, and any source of it is welcome.
So, simply put, Aeon Aha is kinda mediocre, even though she has Aeon in her name. And yes, she’s on par with Sparxie.
So if you only want a 4-cost investment for your Silverwolf Lv 999 team and you already have Sparxie, just pull Yao Guang or Pearl then.
Third Phase (6-cost Silverwolf Lv 999 Team)
Now let’s add Eidolon to our discussion.
The first two Eidolons you want to get for this team are Eidolon 2 for Silverwolf 999.
This team consists of:
- Silverwolf Lv 999 (E2S0) – 3-cost
- Yao Guang (E0S0) – 1-cost
- Aeon Aha (E0S0) / Sparxie (E0S0) – 1-cost
- Pearl (E0S0) – 1-cost
Silverwolf Lv 999 E1: Increases the DMG taken by enemy targets in the Zone by 20%. When leaving the “Godmode Player” state, “Hidden MMR” will not be cleared, 20% of “Hidden MMR” will be retained instead.
Silverwolf Lv 999 E2: After entering the “Godmode Player” state, all buffs on this unit are extended by 1 turn. In the current “Godmode Player” state, for every 120 point(s) of “Hidden MMR” (including the initial “Hidden MMR”) increased, Silver Wolf LV.999 gains 1 extra turn and regains 1 use of Enhanced Basic ATK.
Her E1 means that when your Godmode Slayer state ends, your MMR won’t get reset to 0, but to 20% of its value.
Her E2 is the broken one. Each time you get 120 MMR, Silverwolf Lv 999 gets an Extra Turn. This is where Aeon Aha’s buff that increases her max MMR cap matters most.
One of the reason why her E2 is so broken is because Elation doesn’t have someone like Robin or Sunday who can advance your DPS. So if she can advance herself to act immediately, she basically solves this team’s one problem.
And I’m sure we can all agree that her damage in Godslayer mode is broken. So getting more turns to act is always considered OP for her.
Fourth Phase (8-cost Silverwolf Lv 999 Team)
In this one, pull for E2 Pearl.
This team consists of:
- Silverwolf Lv 999 (E2S0) – 3-cost
- Yao Guang (E0S0) – 1-cost
- Aeon Aha (E0S0) / Sparxie (E0S0)- 1 cost
- Pearl (E2S0) – 3-cost
Pearl E1: When the number of Elation Path characters on the team equals 2/3/4 or more, increases Elation for all allies by 10%/20%/60%. When an ally target is struck with fatal damage, instead of becoming knocked down, immediately restores HP equal to 50% of their Max HP. This effect can trigger 2 time(s) per battle.
Pearl E2: Merrymakes all ally targets’ Elation DMG by 15%. When using Ultimate, causes other ally Elation characters (excluding Pearl and “Aesthetic Archetype”) to also trigger the action advance effect, and increases the “Certified Banger” and Punchline gained at the start of the extra turn provided by the Ultimate by 100%.
Do you remember what I said about Pearl’s problem? Her sustain is not really that good compared to other newes sustainer.
Her E1 solves that problem by reviving your allies with 50% of their Max HP. It can trigger twice per battle.
Now for the other part, she can massively increase all allies’ Elation by 60%. This number is impactful enough to make you notice the difference. And don’t forget that all members of the Elation Team can deal damage too.
But Pearl’s E2 is definitely the main spotlight, especially in Silverwolf Lv 999 team. This buff basically doubles the amount of MMR she gives to Silverwolf Lv 999, from 60 to 120.
This is why she’s the most important part to make the best use of Silverwolf Lv 999’s E2, which can grant her an extra turn whenever she gets 120 MMR.
What About Signature Lightcone for Vertical Investment?
I never mentioned the signature lightcone, even after this guide passed 1500 words.
The reason is simple: pulling the signature lightcone in Honkai: Star Rail isn’t worth it because of how broken Eidolon can be.
That’s why they are not comparable to begin with. The Eidolon value is simply better. Including in Silverwolf Lv 999 vertical investment case.
So if you have more Stellar Jades to spend, always prioritize getting the character first to complete the team, then pull their Eidolon 2. This is the ideal stopping point for many characters in this game.
But if you really want to pull at least one signature lightcone, you can get Silverwolf Lv 999’s signature lightcone, Welcome to the Cosmic City. It gives her 18% SPD, Elation DMG ignores 20% of the target’s DEF, and she gains 20 Puncline each time she uses her Ultimate.
But only if you reach at least the third phase of your Silverwolf Lv 999 vertical investment.
