Bounty Bash Guide: Beginner Tips, Upgrades & Heroes
Bounty Bash focuses on building ships and heroes to roam the sea and progress through stages to beat stronger enemies. The higher the stage, the stronger the enemy, so you need stronger ships and heroes to beat them.
That’s the basic idea and gameplay of Bounty Bash: Idle Pirate RPG. So, in the end, it’s like any other idle gacha game out there.
What makes this game unique is its focus on collecting pirate heroes, ships, the sea, sea monsters, and a beautiful ocean landscape.
But because Bounty Bash has many upgrade mechanics, you need to know what to do first to progress faster.
This Bounty Bash beginner guide covers what to do first in the early game, mistakes to avoid, how to pull and gacha, what to upgrade first, and more.
First Priority in the Early Game

Completing quests is your main priority in the early game because it gives you the most important rewards in Bounty Bash, which are Gems.
With Gems, you can do many things like pulling new heroes and gear, buying new keys, shovels, and more.
If you are an F2P player like me, the easiest way to get as many Gems as possible is to complete quests. Each quest can give you around 300 Gems. And this game has hundreds, even thousands, of quests available.
So whatever they told you to do, just follow it. Most of them are very easy to do. For example, complete stages 1-10, upgrade your Attack to level 100, or do some gear gacha. It’s just basic stuff to do.
Be Careful With These Kind of Quests

I know I just said most Bounty Bash quests are basic, but as you progress, they can get harder. This is the part where you should spend your resources carefully.
Because once you reach 3-digit quests, the jump from the previous quest can be much harder.
For example, one quest tells you to upgrade your Attack to 2200, and the next related quest tells you to upgrade it to 3500. So it’s basically a 1300-level jump from the previous one.
If you don’t manage your resources carefully during this kind of challenge, you will get stuck for a while.
There’s also a gacha-related quest where they tell you to gacha heroes or gear. During my playtime, it’s usually around 30 pulls on the banner they ask for.
So always make sure you have enough Gems to spend when this kind of quest appears.
The Most Important Stats and Knowledge in Bounty Bash
This game has many stats to upgrade, like Attack, Health, Recover Health, Ship Crit Rate, and more. These stats act as base stats for your ship and crew, so the higher the number, the more it improves everything related to it.
There is also Knowledge that acts as an amplifier for your base stats. It counts as a percentage, just like any amplifier in many other games.
Both base stats and knowledge matter for your progress in Bounty Bash, and upgrading both will significantly improve your account power.
But there’s a caveat.
You can’t freely upgrade your base stats because they’re always tied to quests, as I said before. That’s why it’s not recommended to fully upgrade only one or two stats.
One Knowledge to Upgrade First

But knowledge is different. It’s not related to quests. And the material upgrade you need is fixed. That means you can fully upgrade one stat without worrying about anything else.
And there is one knowledge that I recommend the most to fully focus on first. It’s ATK AMP.
Because the main issue I have when progressing this game is that I can’t deal enough damage because each boss stage has a time limit.
The most effective way to solve this problem is, of course, to deal more damage. Increasing ATK AMP is simply one of the best ways to do that.
Take a look at my screenshot above. I got 640% ATK AMP from 320 knowledge only. That’s a big number.
No Need to Pull Heroes Too Much in Early Game

If you take a look at that image, you can see that some Epic heroes in this game are locked because you need to meet the island prerequisite first.
In that image, I could only pull Korjet and Skullcap because I’m still on island 12 in my newer account. So the rest of them are locked.
If you look at my Bounty Bash tier list, you can see that some of the Epic heroes in this game are actually good and worth building, like Korbolt or Loki. But I couldn’t pull them until I reached Island 28.
So save your Hero Summon Token until you can actually pull the good Epic heroes.
For now, if you are still in the early game, the only reason you should spend your Hero Summon Token is to finish your quest.
Otherwise, ignore the hero banner.
Do the Daily Dungeons

Daily Dungeons give you small rewards at first, but as you progress each day, they compound into something you really need.
But in this Bounty Bash, daily dungeons are limited by keys, and you can only get them by recharging daily, watching ads, or buying them with real money.
And as you might already know, the easiest one is always the best, right? So keep your daily dungeons active every day to progress your dungeon level.
But if you don’t want to play much and just want to clear one dungeon each day, your best bet is to spend your time in Gem Lake, since the rewards are already good even at early levels. And don’t use sweep on this one if you can actually beat the next level.
The second most important dungeon is Monki Carnival because Watermelon, which is the material you need to upgrade your heroes’ level, is limited. It could be the bottleneck that stops you from progressing.
Treasure Hunt: Just Focus on Getting Chests

You need a shovel to dig sand, but shovels are limited in Bounty Bash. You need to wait until it recharges, so make sure to use it wisely to progress faster.
The best way to use your shovel is to focus on searching for chests. Once you dig all the chests, press Open Chest to claim your rewards, then move on to the next sand.
Don’t waste more resources and time looking for other things.
Legendary Heroes
Heroes are one of the most impactful upgrades in this game, and Legendary Heroes can greatly multiply that impact if you are lucky enough to get one.
Especially someone like Whisker or Mecha Mag.
Pulling a Legendary Hero is Impossible for New Accounts
In Bounty Bash, both gear and hero banners have levels based on how many times you pull on each. The more you pull, the higher the level, and higher levels unlock new rarities and increase your chances of getting them.
This is common in idle gacha games because they shower you with so many free pulls.
But it can become a problem if you don’t understand how it works. If you look at the rate, you can only pull a Legendary Hero when you reach level 7 on the hero banner.
So you need more than 1,000 pulls before you can actually pull a Legendary Hero in Bounty Bash.
I know that sounds like a lot, but you can do it in about two weeks, or less, if you play daily and keep progressing your account.
Lower Your Expectations

Let’s say you finally reach level 7 on your hero banner. You keep playing and eventually reach the highest level, level 12. Unfortunately, the pull rate for a Legendary Hero is only 0.75%.
So that’s what you get, even after doing thousands of pulls in the hero banner.
If you still don’t understand, the pull rates for a five-star character in popular gacha games like Genshin Impact are 0.6%, while Wuthering Waves is 0.8%.
So this game is somehow trying to compete with big names like that.
I don’t know why they’re doing that, but it just feels so wrong to me.
Upgrading Heroes and Equipment

Heroes and Equipment can benefit your account a lot. But you need to keep upgrading them to make sure they shine like they should be.
You need Watermelon to upgrade heroes, and Iron to upgrade equipment. You can get both from daily dungeons and the Village.
But because they are limited, make sure to spend it wisely.
What to Upgrade First?
You can bring five heroes or crews in one sail. That means you only need to focus your Watermelon on five heroes only.
Personally, I prefer to focus on my epic heroes first, like Korjet, Skullcap, and Montaco. Then once i reach their current level cap, i will move slowly to upgrade my uncommon heroes.
For your uncommon heroes, you can choose anyone you like, but keep in mind you need at least one healer, like Bricolo.
As for equipment, if you are lucky enough to get epic gear, use it and upgrade it. It will benefit you more than any other blue-rarity gear.
If you don’t, upgrade the one with the highest star.
Village is Important
As I said before, Village is one of the main sources for getting Watermelon and Iron. So keep upgrading your Foundry and Monki Kitchen to produce them daily.
Chopping Factory is also important because you need Wood to upgrade every building in Village.
Event and Free Rewards

Events are always a part of gacha games, including Bounty Bash.
There can be many events at the same time, but all of them are usually important to give you some free stuff like summon tokens, keys, and even free heroes.
Some events are locked behind quest level and guild requirements. So make sure you do that first.
For other free stuff, visit Bounty Bash Codes to redeem your codes while they last. Some of them can grant you important rewards like Gems.
Time is the Best Resource

After you do everything I just said above, rest and let the game farm for you.
That’s the final advice I can give you regarding Bounty Bash.
In the end, this is an idle gacha game where you have to wait in real time for the game to farm the resources you need to upgrade your account.
